What? A Home Inspection! Why?

The home-buying process can be very stressful, and nothing could be worse than suddenly finding out that there are major defects with the property you just purchased.  You can avoid any unpleasant surprises by having a home inspection, which is an unbiased visual examination of the physical structure and operating systems of the home.

Many defects are not visible to someone who is not trained to recognize them and some defects can be more or less serious than you think.  That’s why it’s important to have a professional examination of the home.  An inspection can identify a need for major repairs or builder oversights as well as the need for maintenance to keep it in good shape.  Having a full knowledge of the home allows you to make informed decisions and alleviates buyer’s remorse.

For a homeowner that is planning to put their home on the market, a pre-listing home inspection can be very beneficial.  Not only can it alert you to any repairs that need to be made to put the house in better selling condition but it allows you to determine a realistic listing price and gives potential home buyers confidence in the property, resulting in a quicker sale with less stress.

Whether you’re buying or selling, a home inspection can be one of the smartest investments you make.
