How can a home be purchased for 50% of it’s listed price? First of all, it has to be a HUD Home. Secondly it has to be in a special HUD program known as “Lottery Round”. In order to bid on this lottery round HUD Home, the person has to be in what is known as “Good Neighbor Next Door” person. The “GNND” or “Good Neighbor Next Door” program is designed to enhance urban communities by offering discounts on HUD Homes of 50% off the HUD List Price! Just who are these “Good Neighbor Next Door” people? They are full time: Firefighters, EMT’s, Police and Public School Teachers teaching grades K-12. Only these people can bid and own these selected HUD Homes! No one else need apply. The better news is, this 50% purchase price can be combined with the FHA $100.00 down program here in the State of Georgia. The HUD Home must be located in a HUD designated Revitalization Area.
