Metro Atlanta(includes Gwinnett County) home values were down 8% last December 2010, from December 2009. That brings the metro area down 26.7% from the July 2007 peak. Information comes from Case-Shiller’s Index. Something we all knew. This means if you have to sell your home, price it at current market value or it won’t sell. Remember, it has to be appraised in order to secure a loan for the new buyer and the appraiser considers current market sales to determine a current value. If you want to buy a home, now is the time; home values are down and interest reates are still very low.
