Home Affordable Modification Program

Recently an article in the AJC reports the HAMP(Home Affordable Modification Program) designed by the government to help troubled people rework their homeloans and stay in their houses is not working very well. Only 500,000 permanent modifications have been made though more than 7,000,000 homes are facing foreclosure. The program is cumbersome and requires steps to follow by the homeowner. If he does not complete all the steps and accepted into the program, he is back where he started, behind on his mortgage payments and facing foreclosure.
